WATCH: Kellyanne Conway Gets Grilled On Flynn Resignation

Kellyanne Conway struggled to answer questions on Tuesday about Donald Trump’s handling of the scandal surrounding Michael Flynn’s conversation with Russia regarding sanctions.

Kellyanne Conway had trouble answering questions from Matt Lauer regarding Michael Flynn’s resignation Monday night.

Conway tried to side step the reports that Trump and the White House were warned by acting Attorney General Yates weeks ago that Flynn may have been compromised.

During the interview on the Today show, Conway claimed that the reason for Flynn’s resignation was that he misled the White House and lost the confidence of the President and Vice President.

Conway said, “That fact is what became unsustainable, actually. I think misleading the vice president really was the key here and I spoke with the president this morning. He asked me to speak on his behalf and to reiterate that Mike Flynn had resigned.”

Then Lauer pointed out the reports that the Justice Department had warned the White House of Flynn’s private phone calls three weeks ago, Conway responded with, “Well, that’s one characterization.”

Kellyanne Conway also struggled to answer questions on ABC’s Good Morning America, Conway said that she did not know if the president was told last month that Flynn had been compromised.
