Trump Concedes Defeat on First Muslim-Ban, Vows Second One Next Week

The Trump Justice Department informed the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals that it does not plan to ask a larger panel of judges to rehear its failed court challenge to a lower court’s suspension of Trump’s Muslim-ban, according to CNN.

Trump had previously promised to “SEE YOU IN COURT” when he lost their appeal at the 9th Circut Court, but now Trump is clearly conceding defeat in the court battle on the first Muslim-ban. executive order on immigration at this

Instead, Trump plans to draft a new version of the Muslim-ban, this time to avoid some of the legal pitfalls the first one faced.

On Thursday evening, the Ninth Circuit agreed to put the rehearing of the matter on hold for now.

“The new order is going to be very much tailored to what I consider to be a very bad decision,” said Trump during his chaotic news conference Thursday.

CNN reported Thursday that “while the nation waits on a new or modified executive order on immigration from the Trump administration, at least one federal court is barreling ahead on litigation over the original one.

“US District Court Judge James Robart in Seattle — the judge who originally halted the key provisions of the travel ban — denied a request from the Trump administration earlier this week to postpone any further proceedings in his court, which means the parties will now proceed to the discovery phase of the case.”
