WATCH: John Lewis Says Keith Ellison Is ‘Right Person’ For DNC Chair
Civil rights icon Congressman John Lewis said in a video that was released Tuesday that Keith Ellison is the “right person” to be the DNC chairman.
The video was released Tuesday on Keith Ellison’s YouTube page. Lewis said that Keith Ellison is a natural organizer with “the ability and the capacity to inspire people to stand out, to speak up, to speak out.”
Lewis went on to say, “We need his leadership. We need his vision. We need his commitment and his dedication now more than ever before.”
Ellison seems to be the favorite to win the race for DNC chair, however former Labor secretary Tom Perez has received significant support as well.
Ellison has received the endorsement of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senator Bernie Sanders.
Perez has been endorsed by former Vice President Biden.
