Senator Collins On Trumpcare: ‘This Is Not A Bill I Could Support’

Senator Susan Collins said in an interview Thursday that she will vote against the Republican House Obamacare replacement bill.

“This is not a bill I could support in its current form,” Collins said in an interview with the Portland Press Herald.

“It really misses the mark,” Collins continued.

Collins was especially concerned about the report from the Congressional Budget Office which found that 24 million people will lose their insurance under the Republican plan. And Collins was particularly conserned with the Medicaid cuts that would hurt low-income and older Americans.

“This bill doesn’t come close to achieving the goal of allowing low-income seniors to purchase health insurance,” Collins said.

“This is so complex. It’s important we do this right.”
