Pelosi: ‘TrumpCare Is A Vicious Assault On Working Americans’

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi released a statement on Monday slamming Donald Trump and Republicans for the GOP health bill after an analysis found Trumpcare would cost 2 million jobs.

In her statement, Pelosi said, “Not only would Republicans’ TrumpCare bill destroy the health coverage of 24 million Americans, it will destroy nearly 2 million jobs across America.”

Pelosi said “TrumpCare is a vicious assault on working Americans’ health and economic security…”

Pelosi also pointed out that at the same time that 2 million people will lose their jobs the country’s richest will get billions in tax cuts. “In the perverse priorities of the GOP plan, nearly 2 million Americans will lose their jobs but the wealthiest 400 families in America alone get a tax giveaway worth $2.8 billion a year,” the statement said.

Pelosi Statement After Analysis Finds TrumpCare Will Kill Nearly 2 Million Jobs

Washington, D.C. — Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement after a new Center for American Progress analysis found that TrumpCare would destroy 1.8 million jobs by 2022:

“As spectacular as the damage is to Americans’ health, the disastrous consequences of the Republican bill will ripple through the economy as well. Not only would Republicans’ TrumpCare bill destroy the health coverage of 24 million Americans, it will destroy nearly 2 million jobs across America.

“TrumpCare is a vicious assault on working Americans’ health and economic security, sucking up the wealth of working families to hand to the richest few. In the perverse priorities of the GOP plan, nearly 2 million Americans will lose their jobs but the wealthiest 400 families in America alone get a tax giveaway worth $2.8 billion a year.

“Speaker Ryan has called his bill an ‘act of mercy.’ Tell that to the families who lose their health coverage and the workers who will lose their jobs because of the Republicans’ merciless monstrosity of a bill. Republicans should pull the plug on their health-destroying, job-killing bill.”
