24 Million Still Lose Coverage, Far Less Savings After Republican Changes: CBO

Just after Republicans announce they would be canceling Thursday’s vote on the their Obamacare repeal bill, the Congressional Budget Office released a new report based on the revised Republican plan and the numbers aren’t good.

The Congressional Budget Office found that the new version of the Republican health plan would still lead to 24 million Americans losing health insurance but also save much less money than the previous version.

The revised plan would reduce the deficit by $150 billion over 10 years, down from $337 billion in the original legislation, the CBO said.

Under the Republican plan 14 million people would lose health insurance in the first year and by 2026 24 million people would lose their insurance.

All of this begs the question, what exactly are Republicans accomplishing with their plan? Oh yeah, giant tax cuts for the wealthy.
