Rachel Maddow Shows Why White House’s Mike Flynn Story Makes No Sense

On Thursday news broke that Michael Flynn had asked the FBI for immunity in exchange for his testimony in the Russia scandal. And so Rachel Maddow opened her show with a full accounting of Michael Flynn’s very sorted history and Maddow again raises the notion that the White House’s story on Flynn just isn’t adding up.

Maddow notes that Flynn’s attorneys informed the Trump transition that he would likely need to register as a foreign agent, but Vice President Mike Pence – who led the transition – claims he never knew anything about Flynn being a foreign agent.

Then there is the question of why the Trump administration waited almost three weeks after finding out from then acting Attorney General Sally Yates that Flynn was lying about his communications with the Russians.

It’s easy to get lost in each day’s news cycle, but Maddow does a great job of setting the proper perspective on the Flynn saga.

Would Flynn testimony implicate ‘higher ups?’

In a different segment, Maddow spoke with Congressman Jim Himes, a member of the House Intelligence Committee, about what it would mean to grant immunity the Mike Flynn in exchange for testimony and what considerations would go into granting such immunity.
