Polls Confirm People Hate Republican Internet Privacy Rollback

Chalk this one up to ‘thanks for confirming what we already know.’

Two recent polls found that people don’t want their internet providers to be able to sell their data. In fact, pretty much everyone hates the idea.

Which begs the question, why did Republicans decide to rollback an Obama-era rule that prevented Internet service providers from selling your data? There’s a long answer to that but since this article is about the polling, we will just go with the short answer.

Republicans are hypocrites and liars and they only believe in privacy rights if Comcast says it’s okay.

Back to the polls.

A Priorities USA poll found that 83 percent of voters polled opposed the idea.

And a Huffington Post/YouGov poll found that 72 percent of people think Donald Trump should have vetoed the bill. Don’t worry guys, he signed it.

Former FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler said in an op-ed “Apparently, the Trump administration and its allies in Congress value privacy for themselves over the privacy of the Americans who put them in office.”

Way to go Congressional Republicans, you’ve found a way to unite Americans of both sides of the aisle.
