New Poll Shows Ted Cruz Might Be Big In Trouble In 2018

Trouble for Ted…?

Ted Cruz may have more trouble in his 2018 Senate re-election than he planned on. A new poll finds that in potential 2018 matchups, Ted Cruz either loses or is tied to his Democrat opponents.

Congressman Joaquin Castro leads Cruz in the poll found.

The Texas Lyceum poll found that Castro gets 35 percent support statewide in Texas while Cruz gets only 31 percent.

And if that weren’t bad enough, Cruz is tied to the relatively unknown Congressman O’Rourke. The two each are tied at 30 percent.

O’Rourke is the first Democrat to officially jump into the race for Senate against Ted Cruz.

The poll also found that Donald Trump’s job approval is underwater in Texas with 54 percent disapproving to 42 percent who approve of Trump.

The poll was conducted between April 3 and April 9 and includes 1,000 interviews. The margin of error is 3.1 percentage points.
