[Watch the video below]

Randy Bryce, a union ironworker, announced on Monday that he is running for the Democratic nomination in Paul Ryan’s Wisconsin Congressional district.

Bryce released a powerful video as part of his announcement that focused largely on health care.

The video opens with Bryce’s mother describing the challenges of living with multiple sclerosis and the 20 drugs she must take to survive.

“There’s no doubt in my mind that there are thousands of people like her who don’t have what she has,” Bryce said in the video. “The system is extremely flawed.”

Bryce discusses his local roots, his 20 years working as an iron worker and his frustration with Washington DC. Hey then turns his attention to Paul Ryan.

“Let’s trade places,” Bryce said. “Paul Ryan, you can come work the iron and I’ll go to D.C.”

In order for Bryce to face off with Paul Ryan, he will first have to win the nomination against David Yankovich.
