Koch Brothers Planning To Spend $400 Million On 2018 Election

Koch Brothers Promise Massive Spending Assault In 2018 Election.

Charles and David Koch’s political organization plans to spend $400 million supporting Republican candidates and conservative causes in the 2018 election.

According to a Fox News report, Tim Phillips, who leads the Koch-funded Americans for Prosperity, said “Three-hundred million to $400 million for this cycle for politics and policy — we believe we’re headed to the high end of that range.”

“What we’re urging Republicans in the House and the Senate to do is to be bold, to go big,” Phillips said, stressing healthcare and tax reform.

The announcement comes as Republicans in the Senate attempt to repeal Obamacare.

The Koch brothers have been major funders of Republican campaigns, pouring hundreds of millions into each of the last several election cycles.

According to the report, the Koch brothers have said the White House has welcomed their input on the Republican health bill.

“We did want to remind them that this was a promise that had been made to repeal ObamaCare during four consecutive national elections,” Phillips continued.

“It was important to be a little more demonstrative.”

The announcement is likely to put pressure on moderate Republicans who contemplate their vote on the Obamacare repeal bill.
