Kamala Harris Raised Over $600k for Senate Democrats

California Senator Kamala Harris has been the talk of the town since she was elected in November 2016. She has grown her political stardom after continually criticizing Trump.

Harris also grilled Trump’s cronies in nationally televised hearings – which led to her twice being shushed and interrupted by Republican Senators.

CNN reported that Harris is using her newly acquired national name recognition to help raise money for other Senate Democrats who are up for reelection in 2018. She has raised more than $600,000 since January 2017.

More than half of that amount – $365,000 – are from small dollar online donations.

This effort has been helped by her growing email list of potential donors.

According to CNN, that list is “10 times the size it was at this time last year, during her Senate campaign.”

Harris is also planning a fundraising tour in the fall to help Democratic incumbents in the Senate, as well as Democrats challenging incumbent Republicans for their House seats.

“She’s leveraging [her] growth to go fight the most immediate and important battle, which is to defend Senate colleagues and to help those House races,” Sean Clegg, a long-time Harris consultant, told CNN.
