Tom Price Has Spent $300,000 In Taxpayer Money On Private Jets

Hypocrite Tom Price used to complain about private jet travel by government officials – not anymore.

Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price is a big fan of private jets.

So much so that the Secretary has used a private jet at least 24 times while on government business, according to a new report by Politico.

And all that jet-setting has cost the taxpayers at least $300,000.

“Since being confirmed in early February, Price has developed a reputation inside the agency for flying on private charters rather than taking other means of transportation, people inside and outside the Trump administration said,” Politico noted.

In fact, since Price has joined the Health and Human Services agency, he has flown private rather than commercial.

As Politico points out, “The frequency of the trips underscores how private travel has become the norm — rather than the exception — for the Georgia Republican during his tenure atop the federal health agency, which began in February.”

An analysis by Politico found that each private jet flight cost taxpayers thousands more than a commercial flight would have cost.

Price’s private jet travel is also a break from precedent. Both of President Obama’s HHS secretaries flew commercial.
