Americans Will Blame Trump, Republicans For Government Shutdown: Poll

New poll confirms that about most Americans will blame President Trump and Republicans for a government shutdown.

About half of Americans say they would blame President Trump and Congressional Republicans for a government shutdown, a new CNN poll found.

The poll found that 21 percent of Americans who were surveyed, said they would blame President Trump, While another 26 percent said they would blame Republicans in Congres.

Just a third of Americans would blame Democrats if a shutdown occurs.

Multiple recent polls have confirmed that 80+ percent of Americans want DACA recipients to stay in the country. However, the CNN poll confirmed that most would not want the government to shut down over the issue, with 56 percent saying “approving a budget agreement to avoid a shutdown is more important than continuing the DACA program,” according to CNN.

Though, among Democrats, a plurality say DACA is worth a shutdown with 49 percent saying it’s more important vs. 42 percent who say avoiding a shutdown is the priority.
