Mueller Has Subpoenaed More Than A Dozen Trump Campaign Officials

The subpoena for documents with “a set of Russia-related keywords” reportedly “caught the campaign by surprise.”

In mid-October, Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team issued a subpoena to Trump over a dozen Trump campaign officials requesting Russia-related documents, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.

The subpoena to top Trump officials marks Mueller’s first official order for information from the Trump campaign in the Russia investigation.

The subpoena to the Trump campaign was for documents that mentioned “a set of Russia-related keywords,” the Wall Street Journal reports.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the subpoena “caught the campaign by surprise,” as officials had been voluntarily requiring with Mueller’s team.

A person familiar with the investigation told the Wall Street Journal that the campaign is providing subpoenaed documents on an “ongoing” basis.
