GOP’s Latest Obama Conspiracy Just Fell Apart

Turns out the texts Trump called “bombshells” are anything but.

Republicans have been selectively releasing text messages between FBI employees in order to make it seem like there was some anti-Trump conspiracy underway.

The latest texts released by Republicans noted that President Obama wanted “to know everything.”

Republicans, including President Trump, claimed that these texts prove some sort of anti-Trump agenda.

Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), who has emerged as a prime player helping Trump undermine the FBI and Department of Justice, released a report Tuesday that included the texts between FBI agent Peter Strzok and FBI attorney Lisa Page. Johnson and Republicans argued that the texts raised questions about Obama’s involvement in the investigation into Clinton’s email use.

However, that just blew up in there faces. In fact, the texts had nothing to do with the Clinton email case.

According to a new report by The Wall Street Journal, the texts refer to President Obama wanting to know everything about the Russia election interference in the 2016 election.

You know, doing his duty as president to protect the country from Russian attacks.

This morning, Trump tweeted about these texts saying “NEW FBI TEXTS ARE BOMBSHELLS!”

Sorry, Donald, no bombshell here.
