Marine Corps Knew About Nude Photos In 2014

It turns out that the nude photo scandal the Marine Corps is facing reaches all the way back to 2014 when the Marines were first informed about the photos.

According to a report in Task & Purpose, the Marine Corps knew about the websites dating back to 2014.

“Virtually every day for the past few years, pictures of women in the military have been posted on public Facebook pages. “Smash or pass?” the caption will usually read, asking the fans of the page to comment on the attractiveness of the woman in the picture, and whether they would have sex with her,” the piece which is dated August 2014 opens with.

Task & Purpose quotes a former Marine saying Anu Bhagwati, “If the Marine Corps cares about ending assault or ending these abusive cases, they would crack down”

“Because they’re capable of doing anything, I mean, it’s the Marine Corps. The Marine Corps does what it wants,” she said.
