Trump Takes Credit For More Jobs Obama Created

On Friday, as his signature health legislation was burning, Donald Trump took credit for the creation of 20,000 jobs that were created as part of a deal originally made in 2015 during the Obama administration.

Trump announced the jobs he didn’t create at an event in the White House with Charter Communications.

“Today, I was thrilled to announce a commitment of $25 BILLION & 20K AMERICAN JOBS over the next 4 years. THANK YOU Charter Communications!” Trump tweeted alongside a video with executives.

Trump taking credit for other people’s accomplishments is nothing new, it’s been the consistent pattern of his whole career starting when he inherited his father’s real estate business and started calling himself a developer.

In this case, the 20,000 jobs were announced by Charter Communications CEO Tom Rutledge in 2015, according to a CNN fact check. And the FCC approved the deal in May of 2016, and this January Charter’s CEO said that the addition of the 20,000 jobs would take place over the next three years.
