Rudy Giuliani: Trump Asked Me How To Do A Muslim Ban ‘Legally’

Rudy Giuliani went on Fox News Saturday to announce that Donald Trump asked him to find a way to “legally” put in place the Muslim ban he repeatedly called for during the campaign.

Fox News host Jeanine Pirro asked, “Does the ban have anything to do with religion? How did the President decide the seven countries?”

To which Giuliani responded, “When he first announced it, he said Muslim ban. He called me up, he said ‘Put a commission together, show me the right way to do it legally.'”

Then Giuliani said that he put together a commission to do just that, figure out how to enact a Muslim-ban legally. The commission included former U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey, Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) and Rep. Pete King (R-NY).

Giuliani then denied the Muslim-ban had anything to do with religion saying, “What we did was we focused on, instead of religion, danger.”

He said it was a “factual basis, not a religious basis.”

Which of course is incorrect because as the New York Times pointed out, the executive order stipulates that Christians and other members of minority religions be given priority over Muslims.
