WATCH: Bill Maher Smacks Down Trump Supporter Jeffrey Lord
Maher opened the interview by saying he finds Trump to be not just the most vulgar politician but the most vulgar human being and asked Lord, why he has such an affinity for Trump.
Maher also said to Jeff Lord that it seems like Republicans are willing to turn on a dime on issues when it comes to Republicans. Maher used the Mike Pence email example as well as using a Donald Trump using a teleprompter. Maher also pointed out that suddenly Republicans are no longer in favor of free trade and balancing budgets.
And on the question of the Russian election hacking and interference, after a bit of a back and forth where it seemed like Jefferey Lord was being disingenuous, Maher chimed in with “Let’s not play games here Mr. Lord. I like you and I heard you’re a very nice guy – but don’t bullsh*t me.”
Later in the interview, Maher pleaded with Lord on the issue of Trump’s tax returns. “Be honest with me sir. Just be honest with me and I’ll be your best friend,” Maher said.
And when Lord said, “We need to get the country moving again.” Maher quickly chimed in with, “Not if the country is being led by someone that was put there by a foreign power.”
