Hawaii Will File Lawsuit Against Trump’s New Muslim-Ban

News broke late Tuesday, that Hawaii will be the first state to file a lawsuit against Donald Trump’s new Muslim-ban.

According to CNN, attorneys for Hawaii said in court filings they will request in a motion Wednesday that a federal judge issue a temporary restraining order blocking the new ban.

“To be sure, the new executive order covers fewer people than the old one,” Neal Katyal, one of the state’s lead attorneys, said in an interview. He went on to say that, the new Muslim-ban “suffers from the same constitutional and statutory defects.”
Hawaii had sued over the original Trump Muslim-ban but since the order was put under a nationwide restraining order the case was put on hold. “The state now intends to file an amended complaint in light of the new executive order, according to the CNN report.
