WATCH: Bernie Sanders: Trumpcare ‘Absolute Disaster’
Senator Bernie Sanders, during an appearance on MSNBC, tore into the Republican health plan. Sanders described Trumpcare as an “absolute disaster.”
Sanders noted what others have also pointed out about the Republican plan, that the people who will be hurt the worst by Trumpcare are older Americans, especially low-income seniors.
Sanders also highlighted what the AARP noted about a 64-year-old making $25,000 will pay $7,000 more per year for health insurance under Trumpcare than they currently pay with Obamacare.
Sanders also made the case that the Republican plan is not so much a health plan as it is a tax plan that benefits the top 2% with $275 billion in tax cuts. Sanders called it a massive transfer of wealth from working Americans to the country’s richest.
The Senator also vigorously made the case, as he always does, that having a single payer program would be far more efficient and effective.
