Second Just Blocks Trump’s New Muslim-Ban

Two judges, two days in a row, have blocked Donald Trump’s new Muslim-ban.

U.S. District Judge Theodore Chuang in Maryland said Donald Trump’s Muslim-ban, despite its revisions, is still meant to discriminate against Muslims. The just pointed to Trumps own public comments in the ruling.

According to the Washington Post the judge “declared that even the revised travel ban was intended to discriminate against Muslims. He said those wanting evidence of anti-Muslim intent need look no further than what the president himself has said about it.”

“The history of public statements continues to provide a convincing case that the purpose of the Second Executive Order remains the realization of the long-envisioned Muslim ban,” Chuang wrote in his statement.

“In this highly unique case,” the judge wrote, “the record provides strong indications that the national security purpose is not the primary purpose for the travel ban.”

This new ruling from the Maryland judge follows a ruling Wednesday by a judge in Hawaii who also blocked the Trump order.
