Devin Nunes Disappeared the Night Before His Surprise Press Conference

According to The Daily Beast, Rep. Devin Nunes was traveling in an Uber with an aide Tuesday night when he received a call on his cell phone and then left the car, giving no indication where he was going. The abrupt departure by Nunes was verified by three committee officials and a former national security official.

By the next morning, Nunes announced a press conference – one that his own aides, up to the most senior level, did not know what he planned to say. “Nunes’ choice to keep senior staff out of the loop was highly unusual,” The Daily Beast reported.

“The intelligence community incidentally collected information about U.S. citizens involved in the Trump transition,” Nunes told reporters Wednesday morning.

After the press conference, Nunes went directly to the White House to brief the president. Another odd move.

“All of us are essentially in the dark,” Schiff told reporters Friday. “It’s not just that he hasn’t shared them with Democrats on the committee, he hasn’t shared them with Republicans on the committee.”

“I’m the only one who’s seen the documents, as far as I know,” Nunes said Friday.

But the question is, where did Nunes go? And why is it so secretive?
