Dick Cheney Thinks Russian Hack Could Be “An Act Of War”

Former Vice President Dick Cheney spoke about the Russian interference in the 2016 election on Monday, suggesting Russia’s behavior could be “an act of war.”

According to the Economic Times Cheney, who was speaking at the ET GBS 2017 conference, said “There’s no question there was a very serious effort made by Mr. Putin and his government, his organization, to interfere in major ways with our basic fundamental democratic processes.”

“He has found a way to undermine Nato…In some quarters, that would be considered an act of war. I think it’s a kind of conduct and activity we will see going forward. We know he’s attempted it previously in other states in the Baltics,” Cheney continued.

Cheney also said, “Not long ago, Gorbachev was in power and Soviet went out of business…But the situation has changed dramatically under Putin.”
