Robert Reich: At Least Four Grounds For Impeachment

Former Labor Secretary Robert Reich says he sees at least four grounds for impeaching Donald Trump.

In a new video posted to his Facebook page, former Labor Secretary Robert Reich makes the case for at least 4 (maybe even 5) grounds for Donald Trump’s impeachment.

Here are the points Reich makes:

Frist:  Trump is unfaithfully executing the laws and Constitution which puts him in violation of his oath as president. Reich uses the example of Trump falsely accusing President Obama of ordering illegal surveillance of him.

Second: Rober Reich calls out Donald Trump’s clear violation of the Constitution’s Emoluments Clause citing his hotel in Washington D.C. where foreign governments have been pressured to spend money. Secretary Reich also notes Trump’s recent acquisition of Chinese trademarks from the Chinese government.

Third: Donald Trump’s Muslim-ban is a clear violation of the First Amendment, Reich argues.

Fourth: Reich notes Donald Trump’s attacks on the press as another violation of the First Amendment which ensures no abridgment of the freedom of the press.

Possible Fifth: The Constitution defines treason as giving aid and comfort to America’s enemies and Reich contends that the reports of likely collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government as treason against the United States.

Reich, who is a Professor of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley, says that there is no longer a question about the case for impeachment – just a question of whether there is the political will do it.
