Devin Nunes ‘Stepping Away’ From Russia Investigation

BREAKING

On Thursday Morning, Devin Nunes, Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, announced he will be “stepping away” from the Russia investigation.

The Ethics Committee announced it is looking at whether Nunes “made unauthorized disclosures of classified information.”

House Speaker Paul Ryan released a statement on the removal of Nunes. Importantly, Ryan’s statement suggests that Nunes is being referred to the Ethics Committee.

Ryan said he fully supports the decision for Devin Nunes to step down.

In his statement, Ryan said, “In the meantime, it is clear that this process would be a distraction for the House Intelligence Committee’s investigation into Russian interference in our election. Chairman Nunes has offered to step aside as the lead Republican on this probe, and I fully support this decision.”

Congressman Mike Conaway, Republican of Texas, will take over the investigation.
