Donald Trump On Pace To Spend More On Travel In One Year Than Obama Spent In Eight Years

Donald Trump’s vacation habits are truly out of hand and costing taxpayers millions.

Donald Trump is on pace to spend more on travel and vacation during his first year in office than President Obama spent during all eight years as president.

Trump has spent nearly every weekend of his presidency on vacation at his private resort in Florida costing taxpayers millions.

According to a CNN report, in his first 80 days in office, Donald Trump’s travel to Mar-a-Lago has cost taxpayers roughly $20 million. Trump has spent 21 days out his first 80 days in office vacationing at his Florida resort.

By contrast, during his eight years as president, Barack Obama’s travel – both personal and work – cost about $97 million on travel, according to the CNN report. Meaning that if Donald Trump keeps up his current pace of vacationing, he will have spent more on taxpayer-funded travel in his first year as president than Barack Obama spent in eight years as president.

And as CNN pointed out Donald Trump’s lavish vacation spending “comes as Trump asks the federal government to slash non-defense spending by $54 billion, including deep cuts to the State Department, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Environmental Protection Agency and the wholesale elimination of other federal programs.”
