Judge Just Reopened Voter Registration In Georgia House Race
A new court decision could help Jon Ossoff win.
In a move that could have a significant impact on the Congressional race for Georgia’s 6th district, a federal judge just reopened voter registration on Thursday.
U.S. District Judge Timothy Batten ruled as part of a lawsuit examining whether the state of Georgia violated federal law by reducing the amount of time state residents had to register to vote issued a ruling that reopens voter registration in the race between Democrat Jon Ossoff and Republican Karen Handel.
According to a report by AJC.com, voter registration was closed on March 20 even though the election is scheduled for June 20.
The decision to reopen voter registration could prove consequential with all the national attention and local grassroots activation that Jon Ossoff has gained.
