Senate Intel Committee Demands Trump Associates Reveal Russian Contacts

The Senate’s Russia investigation is targeting Roger Stone, Carter Page, Paul Manafort and Michael Flynn.

The Trump-Russia investigation is heating up. A new report by the New York Times notes that the Senate Intelligence Committee has informed Trump campaign associates they must provide records of their communications with Russians as part of the committee’s ongoing investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

Included in the list of Trump associates are Roger Stone, Carter Page, Paul Manafort and Michael Flynn.

According to the New York Times, “The requests, made in letters sent by the committee in the past 10 days, are a preliminary step and open the way to subpoenas for anyone who does not comply, said two officials with knowledge of the Senate investigation. They said Senator Richard M. Burr, a North Carolina Republican who is chairman of the committee, was prepared to compel the Trump associates to turn over their records.”

The New York Times report notes that the Senate Intel Committee gave Stone, Page, Manafort and Flynn until May 9 to provide a list of Russians they’ve met and by May 19must turn over all communication records with those Russians, including emails, texts, and phone calls.

NBC News is also reporting that Carter Page has received the request from the Senate Intel Committee.
