Warren Buffett Perfectly Sums Up Republican Health Bill

Billionaire investor had very harsh words for the Republican bill to repeal Obamacare. Speaking to thousands of investors at his annual Berkshire Hathway meeting in Omaha, Buffett slammed the Republican bill saying “It’s a huge tax cut for guys like me.”

Buffett’s criticism of the Republican plan hits the same point others have about the Obamacare repeal plan – it’s a giant tax cut for the wealthy paid for by taking health insurance away from poor and middle class Americans.

According to the New York Times, Buffett characterized the Republican plan “as a giveaway to wealthy individuals.”

As the New York Times reported Buffett, “argued that the American Health Care Act, which passed the House this past week, amounted to ‘a huge tax cut for guys like me.'”

Buffett also said that raising health costs were the biggest drag on the businesses, not high taxes.

“Medical costs are the tapeworm of American economic competitiveness,” he said.
