Investigators Actively Looking Into White House Cover-Up: Report

Trump-Russia investigation just took a major turn against Trump.

Federal investigators in the Trump-Russi probe are now actively looking into whether the White House is committing a cover-up.

According to a McClatchy report, members of Congress who received a briefing from Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein on Friday.

“A Justice Department official, who asked not to be identified because of the sensitivity of the topic, confirmed that Rosenstein told members of the House of Representatives that the special counsel in charge of the probe, former FBI Director Robert Mueller, ‘has been given the authority to investigate the possibility of a cover-up,’ McClatchy reports.”

The White House is currently researching ways to weaken the power of special counsel Rober Mueller as a way to stymy the investigation.

Earlier Friday news broke that a current senior White House official has been implicated in the Trump-Russia investigation.

It was also reported on Friday that during a meeting in the Oval Office with the Russian ambassador and foreign minister Trump bragged about firing James Comey and told them that he faced a lot of pressure regarding Russia and that Comey’s firing relieved that pressure.

Trump also admitted during an interview with NBC’s Lester Holt that he fired Comey because of the Russia investigation.

The news of an active investigation into a cover-up by the White House is a major development in the Trump-Russia scandal.

And late Friday CNN reported that U.S. intelligence intercepts caught Russian officials bragging about how much influence they had over Donald Trump because of the relationship they have with Michael Flynn.
