Vast Majority Of Americans Want ‘Aggressive Action’ On Climate Change: Poll

New Poll Confirms Just How Much Americans Disagree With Trump On Paris Accord Decision.

Donald Trump is not just on the wrong side of history with his Paris Climate Accord decision – he’s also on the wrong side of the vast majority of Americans.

According to a new poll, 72 percent of U.S. adults think America should take “aggressive action” against global warming caused by climate change.

The Reuters/Ipsos poll found that 46 percent of Americans “strongly agree” that the U.S. should take “aggressive action” on climate change. An additional 26 percent “somewhat agree.”

Just 18 percent of Americans disagree with the idea that the U.S. should take “aggressive action” on climate change.

Americans also believe that the U.S. should lead the global fight against climate change, with 68 percent agreeing.

Donald Trump announced last week that the United States would withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord. Trump has faced nearly universal condemnation for his decision.

A previous poll found that Americans disagree with Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord by a 2 to 1 margin.

About the poll: Reuters/Ipsos conducted its latest survey of 1,685 U.S. adults via online interviews from June 2-4. The poll has a 2.8 percent margin of error.
