Trump Signed Off On Jr’s Initial Statement Lying About Russia Meeting: Report

Donald Trump involved in cover up of Trump Jr.’s Russia meeting.

Donald Trump personally signed off on the statement released Saturday by his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., explaining his meeting with a Kremlin-linked attorney promising damaging information about Hillary Clinton.

The New York Times reported Tuesday that Trump signed off on the statement, which was drafted aboard Air Force One by Trump’s advisers.

The revelation that Trump signed off on the original statement is important because it reveals he was part of the effort to cover-up the evidence of collusion with Russia.

In the statement, Trump Jr. said: “It was a short introductory meeting. I asked Jared and Paul to stop by. We primarily discussed a program about the adoption of Russian children that was active and popular with American families years ago and was since ended by the Russian government, but it was not a campaign issue at the time and there was no follow-up.”

“I was asked to attend the meeting by an acquaintance, but was not told the name of the person I would be meeting with beforehand,” he added.

That statement, of course, turned out to be a giant lie.

It has since been revealed that Trump Jr. received an email saying the Russian government was attempting to help his father’s campaign. Trump Jr. responded to the information saying “I love it.”

On Tuesday, Trump Jr. released several emails between him and Rob Goldstone, a British music publicist who offered to set up the meeting between Trump Jr. and the Kremlin-linked attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya.
