Another Senator Is Calling Trump Jr. Russia Meeting Potential ‘Treason’ (Video)

More talk of treason on the Hill.

Senator Blumenthal told CNN on Thursday that Donald Trump Jr.’s meeting with a Russian lawyer and the email exchange that conclusively proves the Trump campaign knew the Russian government was trying to help them and actively embraced that support could be considered “treason.”

Blumenthal said of the investigation: “It could rise to the level of espionage and treason.”

Blumenthal also called the Russian election interference unprecedented in its “scope and sophistication.”

The Senator continued by saying the emails are “bombshell evidence of criminal intent.”

Senator Blumenthal isn’t the first Senator to refer to the revelations as “treason.” Senator Tim Kaine on Tuesday said, “This is moving into perjury, false statements and even potentially treason.”
