GOP Congressman Blames Female Colleagues For Failure To Pass Health Care

If they were men, he would shoot them.

Republican Rep. Blake Farenthold on Monday said that he would ask the Republican opponents of his party’s health care bill to a duel, if they weren’t women.

The exchange happened during a radio interview Monday morning with 1440 KEYS.

Farenthold, who is a member of Congress from Texas, blasted his female colleagues who did not vote for the party’s attempt to repeal Obamacare.

The three Senate Republicans who announced opposition to the GOP bill last week were: Sen. Susan Collins, Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, and Sen. Lisa Murkowski.

In the interview, Farenthold blamed the bill’s failure on “some female senators from the Northeast.”

Farenthold then said if the bill’s opponent “was a guy from south Texas, I might ask him to step outside and settle this Aaron Burr-style.”
