The FBI Raided Paul Manafort’s House: Report

Trump campaign manager’s home was raided by the FBI in July. 

FBI agents in late July conducted a raid at the home of Donald Trump’s former campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

According to The Washington Post, the FBI agents had a search warrant to seize materials from Manafort’s residence in Alexandria, Virgina.

The Washington Post report cites people familiar with special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation in their report.

The news of a raid indicates that Special Counsel Mueller believes that Manafort is not fully cooperating with his investigation.

The FBI raid took place early on July 26.

Federal agents arrived at Manafort’s Virgina home without warning and departed with records, according to The Washington Post.

The raid happened the day after Manafort met with staff for the Senate Intelligence Committee on this issue of Russia.

In a statement to ABC News, a spokesperson for Manafort confirmed the raid and said Manafort has been cooperating.

“FBI agents executed a search warrant at one of Mr. Manafort’s residences,” the spokesperson said. “Mr. Manafort has consistently cooperated with law enforcement and other serious inquiries and did so on this occasion as well.”
