Manafort The One Who Dropped The Dime On Trump Jr About Russia Meeting

There is a war brewing between Manafort and Trump camp.

Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort is the one who ratted out Donald Trump Jr. about the controversial Russia meeting that took place in Trump Tower in 2016.

“In fact, Manafort had alerted authorities to a controversial meeting on June 9, 2016, involving Trump’s son Donald Jr., other campaign representatives and a Russian lawyer promising damaging information on Hillary Clinton, according to people familiar with the matter,” Bloomberg reports.

Emails that have subsequently been made public revealed that Donald Trump Jr. was offered support for his father’s campaign and Trump Jr. responded by saying “I love it.” In fact, Trump Jr.’s release of the email chain handed the Special Counsel evidence they didn’t already have.

The meeting was attended by at least 8 people including Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner and Paul Manafort. The other attendees were are part of the Russian delegation.

It has since been revealed that Donald Trump dictated the original statement that his son put out about the meeting with the Russian lawyer. That statement was filled with falsehoods and was deliberately misleading, later reporting confirmed.

FBI agents raided the Manafort’s home last month in order to secure documents related to special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into connections between Trump associates and Russia.

The Bloomberg report also revealed that Mueller has subpoenaed Manafort’s financial records from several global banks.

Trump and Manafort at war

The Trump friendly National Enquirer released a story claiming Manafort had an affair with a younger woman at the same time reports broke of the FBI raid on Manafort’s home.

The National Enquirer has long been supportive of Donald Trump including having purchased the rights to a story about Trump himself having an affair just one year after marrying Melania.
