Study Confirms Trump Is Causing Health Insurance Premiums To Spike

Donald Trump desperately wants to make it harder for people to get health care.

Donald Trump’s actions to undermine Obamacare are having real world consequences for millions of Americans who buy health insurance through the Affordable Care Act’s exchanges.

According to a nonpartisan study, Trump’s actions have caused double-digit premium increases on individual health insurance policies.

The Kaiser Family Foundation study notes that Trump’s actions which are “far outside the norm”  have led mix signals and caused uncertainty among insurance companies resulting in significant increases in premiums.

To be clear, the Kaiser study notes that the premium increases caused by Trump’s intentional undermining of Obamacare would not have happened absent the deliberate actions to undermine the law.

Millions will pay more for health care because of Trump

According to Kaiser, the premium increases will apply to the 10 million people who buy their insurance through Obamacare exchanges (both federal and state run) as we as up to 7 million people who buy policies on their own.

“The vast majority of companies in states with detailed rate filings have included some language around the uncertainty, so it is likely that more companies will revise their premiums to reflect uncertainty in the absence of clear answers from Congress or the administration,” the report said.
