Trump’s Justice Department Forced To Admit Obama Never Wiretapped Trump Tower

Trump lied about Obama wiretapping him and his Justice Department just admitted it.

The Justice Department just quietly admitted that Donald Trump’s assertion that Barack Obama wiretapped Trump Tower was a total lie. In a court filing Friday evening the Justice Department said that it has no evidence to support Trump’s assertion in March that Obama wiretapped the phones in Trump Tower before last year’s election.

“Both FBI and NSD confirm that they have no records related to wiretaps as described by the March 4, 2017 tweets,” the Justice Department’s filing reads.

The filing came in response to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit by a group pushing for government transparency, American Oversight.

Many of you might be thinking – duh, we already knew this. You know because literally no evidence has been offered to support any aspect of Trump allegation. And because then-FBI Director James Comey told Congress in March there was no evidence to support Trump’s lie. “We have no information to support those tweets,” he said at a House intelligence committee hearing.

Following the Justice Department’s admission, American Oversight said in a statement: “The FBI and Department of Justice have now sided with former Director Comey and confirmed in writing that President Trump lied when he tweeted the former President Obama ‘wiretapped’ him at Trump Tower.”
