He was warned.

Donald Trump received intelligence briefings during the campaign where he was told the Russians were attempting to infiltrate his campaign, a new report confirms.

According to NBC News, the FBI “briefed and warned” Trump as early as August 2016 about Russia’s election efforts.

NBC notes that “the revelation that the Trump campaign was warned about spying threats from Russia and other adversaries, which has not been previously reported, casts a new light on the Trump campaign’s dealings with Russians in the months before the November election.”

By the time Trump was warned about the Russian efforts in August 2016, at least seven Trump campaign officials had already had contacts with Russians.

The revelation that Trump was warned of Russia’s intention to infiltrate his campaign comes as the Special Counsel’s investigation into collusion intensifies.
