New Poll Confirms There Is A Massive Blue Wave Building

Another poll shows Democrats have a massive lead heading into the 2018 midterms.

For those who are hoping for a Democratic takeover of Congress in 2018, a new poll confirms there is a massive blue wave building.

According to the new Quinnipiac University National Poll, Democrats have a whopping 17-point advantage on a generic congressional ballot – That’s up 2-points from the same poll last month.

In fact, as the poll results below show, Democrats win essentially win voters of all ages, ethnicity and gender with the exception of white men where Republicans have a slight lead.

But that’s not the only troubling poll number for President Trump and the Republicans. In fact, it seems voters opposed every major policy position that the Trump administration has been pushing.

Here is a breakdown of the key insights from the poll:

  • 79 percent of voters say that “Dreamers” should be allowed to stay in the United States and apply for citizenship. Another 7 percent say Dreamers should be able to stay but not be allowed to apply for citizenship.
  • 63 percent of voters opposed President Trump’s plan to build a wall on the U.S. Mexico border.
  • 70 percent of voters oppose enforcing federal marijuana laws in states that have legalized medical or recreational marijuana. And 58 percent of voters – including 79 percent of voters 18 to 34 years old – say that marijuana use should be made legal.
  • Just 32 percent support the GOP’s recently passed tax bill with 66 percent saying the tax cuts will benefit the wealthy the most
  • 61 percent of Americans say they don’t have confidence that President Donald Trump can handle the situation with North Korea.

About the poll: From January 5 – 9, Quinnipiac University surveyed 1,106 voters nationwide with a margin of error of +/- 3.6 percentage points, including the design effect. Live interviewers call landlines and cell phones.
