Rosenstein Alerted White House 2 Weeks Ago Of Kushner Clearance Problems

Jared Kushner still doesn’t have security clearance – and it’s looking like he won’t get it for awhile.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein warned White House officials two weeks ago of additional issues with Kushner’s security clearance that would further delay his application.

According to the Washington Post, a “phone call from Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein to White House Counsel Donald McGahn came amid growing public scrutiny of a number of administration officials without final security clearances.”

Kushner has been using a temporary security clearance since joining the White House.

The Washington Post reported, “Kushner was among dozens of White House personnel who were relying on interim clearances while their FBI background investigations were pending.”

Allegedly, the Rosenstein and McGahn spoke on February 9 about the clearance issues, which came a week before White House Chief of Staff John Kelly announced that those officials working in the White House on temporary clearances, including Kushner, would no longer be able to view top-secret information until their security checks are finalized.

Trump can still grant Kushner a high-level security clearance, even if his background investigation continues to drag on. However, Trump said that he would leave that decision to Kelly.
