Manafort Has Flipped, Reaches Cooperation Deal With Mueller

President Trump’s campaign chairman is now cooperating with prosecutors in the Russia probe.

Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort has agreed to cooperate with Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation. During a court appearance Friday, Manafort entered a guilty plea to two federal charges stemming from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation and has reached a “cooperation agreement” as part of the plea deal.

Manafort has agreed to cooperate “fully and truthfully” with the Special Counsel investigation according to Judge Amy Berman Jackson who is overseeing the Manafort’s DC trial.

As part of the deal, Manafort will be submitting to interviews with the Special Counsel and provide documents related to the Russia investigation.

Andrew Weissmann, one of the Special Counsel prosecutors on Mueller’s team, also confirmed that Manafort’s plea deal included a “cooperation agreement.”

The exact details of Manafort’s cooperation agreement are not yet clear, however, it is important to note that once someone enters a cooperation agreement they must cooperate on any matters that prosecutors request or they lose their deal.
