Republican Senator: Trump Administration ‘In A Downward Spiral’
Republican Senator Bob Corker, chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, said Monday that Donald Trump’s White House is in a “downward spiral.”
“The White House has got to do something soon to bring itself under control and in order,” he said Monday, according to Bloomberg. “It’s got to happen.”
Senator Corker made his remarks following a Washington Post report that Trump revealed highly classified intelligence information in a meeting with the Russian foreign minister and ambassador.
“Obviously they’re in a downward spiral right now and they’ve got to figure out a way to come to grips [with] all that’s happening,” Corker said
According to a report by the Washington post, Donald Trump revealed highly classified intelligence information to the Russian foreign minister and ambassador during a meeting in the Oval office last week.
Current and former U.S. officials told the Washington Post that Donald Trump shared information from a critical source of intelligence on the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.
The classified information that Trump shared with the Russians was provided to the U.S. by a partner through an intelligence sharing arrangement and according to the report, the partner did not give the United States permission to share the information with Russia.
