John McCain Slams Trump’s Decision To Put Steve Bannon On Security Council

On Sunday McCain expressed his deep concerned with Donald Trump’s recent executive order that reorganizes the National Security Council (NSC).

“I am worried about the National Security Council,” Senator McCain told CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

On Saturday amid the chaos that erupted in reaction to his Muslim-ban, Donald Trump signed another executive order that restructured the National Security Council. Trump decided to add his white supremacist strategist Steve Bannon to the “principals committee” and removed the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the director of national intelligence.

“Radical departure from any national security council in history”

Senator McCain, who chairs the Senate Armed Services Committee, characterized Steve Bannon’s placement on the National Security Council a “radical departure from any national security council in history.”
