FBI Director Comey Meets With Senators On Intelligence Committee

Senators for the Senate Intelligence Committee met in a closed-door secure room meeting with FBI Director James Comey on Friday. The meeting comes as evidence and anger continues to mount over the Trump-Russia scandal.

Members of the Intelligence Committee spent about three hours in a secure room with Comey on Friday. The secure room is located on in the Senate basement and is used for classified briefings.

So far no Senator has been willing to discuss anything about the meeting, not even to confirm that they met with Comey.

The Senate Intelligence Committee is investigating Russia’s interference in the 2016 election. The committee is also looking into whether there was any contact between the Trump campaign and Russian officials during the campaign.

After the meeting, Senator Marco Rubio tweeted that he was confident that the Committee would now conduct a thorough investigation.

Trump’s former national security adviser was forced to resign on Monday after it was revealed that he lied about his discussions with the Russian ambassador.
