House Intel Committee Demands Proof of Wiretap From Trump By Monday

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Republican Devin Nunes and ranking member Democrat Adam Schiff have asked the White House to hand over any evidence proving Trump’s claim that former President Obama wiretapped Trump Tower.

First reported by The Associated Press, Nunes and Schiff sent a letter to the White House with this demand.

Trump has not provided any evidence thus far and news reports indicate that Trump’s claim comes from a debunked Breitbart article that was placed on his desk by a White House staffer.

Since then, Trump has asked for an investigation – and he’s getting one. But he may be getting more than he bargained for if House and Senate intelligence committees use his wiretap claim as a springboard for a broader investigation into Trump’s Russia connections.
