New Poll Finds Donald Trump’s Job Approval Rating Is Embarrassingly Low

A new poll by Pew Research finds that Donald Trump’s job approval rating stands at the embarrassingly low mark of 39 percent. The Pew Poll finding also shows that Donald Trump has not received any appreciable bump in approval after the recent missile strikes in Syria and Afganistan.

54 percent say they disapprove of the job Donald Trump is doing.

The same Pew Poll in February also had Donald Trump’s job approval rating at 39 percent.

And the number of Americans who are confident that Trump will be able to avoid major scandals in his administration also has fallen eight percentage points, from 44% to 36%.

Pew also found that 63 percent of Americans say that Donald Trump is too impulsive in making important decisions.

Paul Ryan’s approval rating even lower.

Pew also found that just 29% approve of the way Paul Ryan is handling his job as Speaker of the House. And 54 percent of Americans disapprove of Ryan’s job as Speaker.

Ryan is facing trouble from his own party the poll found with only 51 percent giving Ryan a positive rating. Democrats overwhelmingly disapprove of Ryan’s job performance with 75 percent disapproving.

The Pew Poll was conducted April 5-11, 2017 among a national sample of 1,501 adults.
