WATCH: President Obama Holds First Public Event Since Leaving Office

We miss you, Mr. President!

Former president Barack Obama is returning to the spotlight today with a speech at the University of Chicago. The event will be Obama’s first public remarks since leaving office in January.

President Obama has largely stayed out of the public eye, but he will use his Monday appearance to talk with students in his hometown of Chicago.

The event is meant to help aspiring leaders find new ways to empower their communities and take part in civic engagement. “This event is part of President Obama’s post-presidency goal to encourage and support the next generation of leaders driven by strengthening communities around the country and the world,” according to the program description.

Obama does not plan to talk about Donald Trump.
